Dialing Parameters
To configure the dialing parameters to be used, select the Communication... command from the Configuration menu (or click on the button on the toolbar), then, on the displayed dialog, select the Dialing tab.
Dialing Plan
Max length of an internal dialnumber
When a dialing prefix for public network access is set for a communication port, this prefix will automatically be added to the beginning of the numbers having a length greater than the size defined in this field.
Character to suppress the dialing prefix
The character defined in this field can be added to the beginning of a telephone number to signify that this number is an internal number and that it will not be necessary to add the dialing prefix for the access to the public network. This character will not be composed.
Character to force the dialing prefix
The character defined in this field can be added at the beginning of a telephone number to signify that this number is an external number and that it will be necessary to add the dialing prefix for the access to the public network. This character will not be composed.
International prefix
The international prefix of the software installation country can be defined in this field. It allows to define the telephone numbers used in the software with the format:
+<international prefix>(<phone provider prefix>)<number>
These numbers may be exchanged between stations in different countries. The international prefix of the station that dials the number is compared with the international prefix of the number to be dialed to determine the format of the number actually dialed.
For example, if the number to dial is set to +33(0)476041100, the dialed number will be 0476041100 if the international prefix defined is 33, or +33476041100 if the international prefix defined is different from 33.
Automatic selection of internal/external line
When this option is enabled, the port used to make a call will be selected according to the internal/external type of the number and to the defined dialing rules (max length of internal number, prefix forcing or prefix deletion).
If the number to be called is an internal number, only the lines defined as internal (dialing prefix defined for the associated communication port) can be used.
If the number to be called is an external number, all the lines can be used, except those which are specified as exclusively internal (dialing prefix "-").
Options
Max time to wait for answer
Maximal time to wait for answer after dialing. After this time without answer, the call is considered as failed (no answer).
Test cycle for port opening
When this value is non null, ports that could not be opened by the software (ports used by another application for example) are periodically checked according to the defined cycle, expressed in seconds.
Phone line test cycle
When this value is non null, the modems for which the line test has been validated are periodically checked for line test according to the defined cycle, expressed in seconds.
Failed modem test cycle
When this value is non null, the modems considered as in fail state are periodically checked according to the defined cycle, expressed in seconds.
