Alarm Masking
Masking and unmasking an alarm or group of alarms can be done by using the "Mask..." or "Unmask" command in the context menu associated with each of the tag views on the main screen.
When the "Mask..." command is performed on a group of alarms, it applies to all alarms of the group.
When the "Unmask" command is performed on an alarm group, it applies to all hidden alarms in the group.
The dialog box displayed to mask one or more alarms allows you to set the time for the start and end of masking. It also allows you to add a comment about the masking operation.
Begin date & time
Define here the start date and time for masking. From this time, the alarm will be automatically masked.
The "Now" choice (default choice) indicates that the alarm is immediately masked, starting from the validation by clicking on the OK button.
End limit date & time
Define the date and time of the masking end. After this time, the alarm will be automatically unmasked.
The choice "No limit" (default choice) indicates that the alarm is masked without any time limit. It will remain masked until an operator explicitly unmask it.
Comment
Enter in this field the comment indicating the reason for the masking of the alarm (or any other information related to the masking).
Note:
If an alarm is already hidden, it is not possible to change the start time of masking. The end time can be changed. When simultaneously masking several alarms, the start times of the masking will only be modified for unmasked alarms.
