Multilingual Management
The visual user interface of the software (menus, dialogs, messages, help, etc.) can be dynamically switched in 7 languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Chinese. See Display Options.
The labels defined in the application (names of stations, groups, operators, ...) can be entered in the different languages of the user interface. They are displayed in the language selected for the interface when they are defined in that language, otherwise in the language defined as the basic language (see Advanced Options) and as a last resort in the first language in which they were defined.
The messages associated with the monitored alarms, as well as the service messages transmitted to the users, can be entered in different languages, both to be displayed in the different languages used for the user interface (as for the labels) but especially so that they can be transmitted in each of the languages used by the different users. The choice of languages is free. Messages are displayed in the language of the selected user interface when they are defined in that language, otherwise in the language defined as the basic language and as a last resort in the first language in which they were defined.
The vocal interface of the software is dynamically switched by automatically selecting the voice of the vocal server and the synthesized voice to be used according to the connected user (see Vocal server). If no vocal server voice has been set for the language of the connected operator, the voice associated with the language set as the basic language is used and, as a last resort, the first voice defined. Similarly for synthesized voice to use.
Messages transmitted to a user are automatically selected in the usual language assigned to him. If the message does not exist in the user language, it is searched in the following order:
-
In the generic language of the user (irrespective of the country), if it is defined in that language,
-
In the language defined as the basic language, if it is defined in that language,
-
In the first language for which it is defined.
To edit the labels in a language, select the desired language as the user interface language (see Display options) and then edit the labels you wish to translate:
-
Name of stations (see Station Properties).
-
Display name of data servers (see Data server properties).
-
Name of the tag groups and the associated vocal message (see Properties of a tag group).
-
Name of the call groups and name of the associated group alarm tone (see Caller group properties).
-
Name of the on-call teams (see Properties of a on-call team).
-
Name of the scenarios (see Scenario properties).
-
Name of data server, call group and scenario groupings.
-
Name and first name of the users (see Properties of a user).
-
Name of the different users status (see User statuses).
-
Tag names (see Tag properties).
Messages attached to the monitored alarms and all related parameters (long message, short message, audio file, text file, long message format) can be edited directly in any language by selecting the corresponding language tab in the dialog box To define the properties of a tag (see Tag properties).
When a label is not defined in the selected language (interface language for labels, language of the tab selected for messages), it is displayed in gray in the language defined as the basic language (or by default in the first defined language).
When editing a label or a message, deleting the label defined in the selected language causes the default label (basic language or first defined language) to be displayed. To delete this default label, if allowed for the relevant parameter, delete the displayed label again. Pressing the "Delete" key once the default label has been deleted causes a return to the default label.
The labels defined in the different languages for labels and messages are stored in the XML file corresponding to the associated entities in the form of "langstring" records with the "langid" attribute for language identification according to the Language coding table.
